IN THE FLOW: SEPT 2020 FULL MOON

10 DEGREES PISCES, 2 September 2020, 06h22 BST

Taking place just a few days after a magical Venus-Neptune trine, September’s Pisces Full Moon promises to be both an emotional and a sensitive time. Expect to feel all the feels, as well as those of others. Pisces is a highly empathic sign, so don’t be surprised if you find it more difficult than usual to discern your own feelings from those of others.

Adding to the sense of inner turmoil and confusion will be a challenging T-square involving Venus, Saturn, Mars and Black Moon Lilith. Anything we have been pushing down, projecting onto others or refusing to face emotionally is now likely to surface now. In relationships and money matters, this could lead to feelings of frustration, depression and even outbursts of anger.Venus will also be making a conjunction to the fixed star Procyon, so it is possible that we may see further developments in relation to events begun around the Cancer New Moon at the beginning of July, when Mercury made contact with this fixed star, known to classical astrologers as canis minor.

In many ways, this particular Full Moon is all about getting clarity, even if that means having to burst a few illusory bubbles we or others may have created in a bid to avoid disappointment. Although just as idealistic as Pisces, Virgo is also very precise, sensible and details-oriented, which is needed in order to offset the poetic and beautiful, but sometimes unrealistic and ungrounded water energy of the fishes.

Luckily, there will be plenty of grounding energy around to help us stay calm and centered. Both the Sun and Mercury will be touring through precise and practical Virgo, which should help to counter any inner discombobulation that may arise as a result of Pisces/Neptune influences. In addition, an exalted Mercury will also make a series of stabilising and grounding earth trines to three of the outer planets in Capricorn between 29 August and 3 September. This will also help us to keep our reasoning powers sharp and communication channels clear and open, both of which should aid us in cutting through any mental fog or temporary mix-ups and get to the heart of the matter.

However, this New Moon is definitely not all bad news. Thanks to Uranus in Taurus, we can expect some really positive aha moments and perception shifts over the next two weeks. Uranus is currently retrograde, which means that we’re likely to experience its machinations more inwardly. However, it’s also possible that it may lead to a few plot twists surrounding a past situation. (What area of life this is likely to affect will depend entirely on your natal Uranus placements).

sIGN

Pisces is a mutable water sign, which makes it extremely emotional and impressionable – able to tune into the energy of others and in fact, everything around them. This can be a good thing and a bad thing – on the one hand, heightening empathy levels and intuition, but also potentially creating gaps in your armour through which people or situations can drain you emotionally. When the Moon is here, we need to let go of victim behaviour and take responsibility for our own welfare and happiness by developing good boundaries and learning to say no.

Pisces Full Moon Themes:

POSITIVE EXPRESSIONS:

  • 20/20 vision – combining an understanding of the whole with detailed knowledge of each part
  • Synthesizing intuition with common sense
  • Marrying inspiration with perspiration – making dreams a reality
  • Adopting holistic thinking = seeing how the individual parts fits into the whole, details plus vision
  • Balancing compassion/empathy with a healthy dose of self-respect
  • Managing expectations – aiming for the best but preparing for the worst
  • Striking a happy medium between surrender/going with the flow vs planning/structuring your time/energy

THINGS TO GUARD AGAINST:

  • Identity crises, a lack of clear boundaries between ourselves and others
  • Timewasting, energy draining or haemorrhaging resources
  • Flakiness, vagueness, insincerity, or a lack of self-discipline
  • Insecurity, self-doubt or self-destructive behaviour
  • Emotional confusion, game playing, deception
  • Escapism, addiction or flights of fancy
  • Victim/martyr complex: self-sacrifice, playing helpless, use/abuse, self-harm
  • Wallowing and self-pity

ASPECTS

Uranus trine/sextile the luminaries: Positive Paradigm shifts

At the Full Moon, both the Sun and Moon will be making positive aspects to a retrograde Uranus in Taurus. This allows for lightbulb moments and paradigm shifts of all kinds, particularly when it comes to matters of the heart or psychological processes. This aspect pattern is really what lies at the nub of this particular lunar phase, helping to really drive home the message of its Sabian symbol, which is all about illumination.

Given that Pisces rules the intuition/imagination, and Virgo is very good at sense perception and detailed work, this Full Moon could lead to some real leaps forward when it comes to solving complex problems, and turning dreams into reality. Add Uranus into the mix and solutions or breakthroughs are likely to come about through technology or an innovative use of a traditional method, technique or material may hold the key to turning things around now. Given the Procyon signatures involved in this Full Moon (see the Fixed Stars section below), I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we see the launch of new green technology products or announcements concerning innovations in sustainable farming methods around this time.

Uranus is also retrograde, which means that any positive shifts or flashes of illumination that occur now are involve internal processes. Don’t be afraid to push the boundaries of convention or challenge assumptions as these could lead to a whole new way of seeing a problem or situation. However, it’s also possible that it may lead to a few plot twists surrounding a past situation. (What area of life this is likely to affect will depend entirely on your natal Uranus placements).

Discernment, detachment and clarity are the key to optimising this energy. The more grounded and precise you are, the better your insights, communications and decision-making will be. Cultivating a healthy dose of Virgo precision and discernment should also help us clarify any psychic perceptions or emotional undercurrents we pick up now.

Venus T-square – Dealing with difficult emotions

On the same day as the full Moon, Venus in Cancer will form a challenging aspect pattern with Saturn, Mars and Black Moon Lilith. This could lead to a few emotional outbursts and problems remaining patient with loved ones, especially family members as unspoken resentments, and strong feelings or difficult issues are pushed to the surface. In relationships and money matters, this could lead to feelings of frustration, depression and arguments.

Part of the problem is likely to stem from frustration – a retrograde Saturn will be highlighting internal blocks or unspoken resistance, possibly stemming from childhood, could create difficulties in reaching out to others or expressing our emotions. Loneliness, lack, abandonment, unworthiness, trust issues could therefore arise.

In addition, Black Moon Lilith will be situated very close to Mars, so it’s very likely that we may project our feelings anger or frustration onto others – something to be aware of, especially when it comes to public gatherings. Given how empathic and unboundaried Pisces energy is, it’s possible that we may feel a little overwhelmed or tearful. Anything we have been pushing down, projecting onto others or refusing to face emotionally is now likely to surface now, perhaps in a rather surprising way, given the involvement of Uranus in this particular lunar phase.

FIXED STARS

At the Full Moon, Venus will also be making a conjunction to the fixed star Procyon, so it is possible that we may see further developments in relation to events begun around the Cancer New Moon at the beginning of July, when Mercury made contact with this fixed star, known to classical astrologers as canis minor.

I recently discovered that Procyon is another Starseed marking – worth bearing in mind, because this two week period may coincide with another set of Starseed awakenings or activations that lead to innovations in activities such as agriculture or clean energy. I must say, I do wonder whether Zach Bush has some Procyon starseed markings in his chart. This signature certainly helps to explain the interests and aptitudes of space engineer and tech innovator, Elon Musk.
