FULL MOON – 20 DEGREES TAURUS, 12 November 2019 (13h34 GMT)
November’s Taurus Full Moon is all about making the invisible, visible. On the one hand, it carries forward the magical manifesting energy begun by Saturn-Neptune (earth-water), given added momentum by a enthusiastic, ‘can-do’ Mars-Jupiter sextile (fire & air) taking place on the same day as the Full Moon. (All four elements = Emperor archetype = grounded, stable and powerful manifesting energy!)
On the other, it brings a retrograde Mercury, fresh from it’s contact with revelatory Pluto, out from the shadows and into full focus, c/o a conjunction with the bright rays of the Sun. Realisations and paradigm shifts about past habits, situations or events promise to have a tangible and positively transformative emotional impact on you and loved ones over the next two weeks. As a result, the potential for growth and healing will be enormous.
See this as a chance to rewrite your script/life story – and to catch tangible glimpses of your ability to transform pain into power, and dreams into reality. Confirmation of any recent inner transformation work you’ve been doing is finally beginning to pay off is also likely to arrive now.
The Sabian symbol for this degree is all about staying in flow. If things suddenly take on a frenetic pace (think 8 of wands energy), the trick is just to stay calm, centred and detached. The more you allow things to unfold in their own time and way, the better things will work out for you.
The November 2019 Full Moon takes place in earthy and abundant Taurus. Taurus is a fixed earth sign, which makes it very stable and fertile. It promotes slow but steady growth – which may be one of the reasons why the Moon is exalted here.
When the Full Moon is here, it’s time to focus on what wants to come to fruition. This is Empress energy – the flowering of an idea, intention or project sown at the New Moon – combined with the Scorpionic energy of Judgement/The Fool. Add to that an expansive Mars-Jupiter sextile and a bucketload of contacts to the outer planets, and you’re talking about a very productive and busy time between now and the end of the month!
Taurus is a sign that loves stability. It also likes to take it’s time. Bulls have a tendency to dig in their heels and get a little stubborn if anyone tries to rush them or coax them out of their routine/away from creature comforts. While this is generally not a bad thing, when paired with the impatient and transformative energy of Mars and Pluto – active on the same day as the Full Moon things could feel a tad overwhelming or unsettling. (Have a look at the Sabian symbol info below for how to handle this).

- Refusing to change things up – repeating habits and getting more of the the same when a drastic change may be what’s required

- Judging people on their looks/wallet/sexual prowess
- Wallowing, getting fixated on creature comforts
- Being overly possessive, jealous, territorial or controlling in relationships
The November Full Moon takes in the third decanate of Taurus. The Sabian symbol for the 20th degree of Taurus is:
WISPS OF CLOUDS, LIKE WINGS, ARE STREAMING ACROSS THE SKY.
This evokes an image of fleeting shapes in the sky that fly by. But also the wings of birds – or perhaps angels. We may get glimpses of states we’ve been trying to introduce permanently into our lives, but which seem transient and difficult to pin down right now. This can create a sense of things either passing you by, or of things happening at speed, both of which can potentially be overwhelming.
The key here is to consider the sign we’re dealing with: fixed earth sign
Taurus can get a little too fixated with security and permanence, instead
of living in the present moment. The lesson seems to be that if we allow
ourselves to forget that permanence of any kind on the earth plane is an
illusion, we can get a little ‘shook up’ when things come along to remind us of this fact.
Of course, it may turn out to have less to do with change, and more to do
with the RATE or pace of change that occurs at this time. With strong
Mars-Jupiter energy at the Full Moon, it’s also entirely possible that things
could ‘blow up’ at the Full Moon. Rather like the 8 of wands in the tarot, it’s
possible that after weeks of introversion and slowdown created by Mercury
retrograde, everything suddenly intensifies/accelerates/happens all at once.
The key is to take what shifts or events come to fruition now in our stride, to try and remain present and enjoy things for what they are, and then go with the flow. Remember: what’s meant to stay will remain and/or return, and what’s meant to be here for just a season/day should be enjoyed with grace and then allowed to flow on. The less we try to control or grasp onto what feels ephemeral, the more we will come to enjoy being in the flow of life.
The Sabian Oracle also offers us the following suggestions for how to consider the hidden significance of this particular zodiacal degree:
Keywords: Fleeting opportunities or inspiration. Feeling things “in the wind”. Seeking a change inthe weather. Thinking on your feet. Doing things at a fast pace. Placing too much importance on the fast movement of the issue at hand. Wasting energy on nonessentials. Things floating in the air. Going at full tilt. Skywriting. Vapor trails. Things, here one minute—gone the next. Messages read from clouds. Planes. The beauty of the sky.
The Caution: Resistance to the creative flow. Superficial excitement. Unstoppable progress. Destructive development. Forces beyond your
control. Making unformed or uninformed decisions on a whim. Not thinking things through. Impatience. Continual impermanence. Lack of rest or sleep. Contrails. Weather control. Overcast skies.
This Full Moon is particularly eventful, making a number of aspects to several of the outer planets. A conjunction between the Scorpio Sun and a retrograde Mercury will also be a factor, making it likely that anything unresolved from the past could come up for clearing between now and the end of the month.
Moon trine Saturn sextile Neptune: Embracing Your Newfound Authority
The Taurus Full Moon combines its Empress energy with the major manifesting energy of Saturday’s Saturn-Neptune sextile. Tangible evidence of all the Law of Attraction work you’ve done since January may now begin to appear.
This particular aspect pattern combines a double dose of positive earth energy with the flowing watery energy of Neptune in Pisces. Combining magical thinking, imagination and poetic sensitivity with common sense, inner calm and a sense of authority can produce wonders now.
Moon-Pluto Trine: Inner Transmutations
A potent and transformative trine between the Moon and Pluto takes the energy of the past and transmutes it, allowing you to turn pain into power. This energy is about inner transformation: standing in your truth and overcoming the wounds/blocks of the past (c/o Mercury retrograde). Use this highly focused energy to identify what needs to change and then have the courage to purge/eliminate what no longer nourishes.
Moon opposite Sun-Mercury: Integrating Past Lessons
The tendency for Mercury retrograde cycles to bring up past experiences, either to clarify/clear is likely to be magnified at the Full Moon. All the Plutonic underworld energy of Scorpio, accentuated by Mercury in Scorpio’s sextile to Pluto (10th) is brought to light as Mercury makes its way into the heart of the Sun.
Secrets are revealed and past mysteries cleared up. Your ability to communicate how you feel and make enlightened decisions using a combination of head and heart, are both accentuated now. Use the next two weeks to make personal paradigm shifts, change career/life direction and head off in much more empowered direction.
OTHER KEY TRANSITS:
Mars sextile Jupiter
On the same day as the Full Moon, an expansive and motivating sextile between Mars in Libra and Jupiter in Sagittarius will be urging us to get going, take action and generally take steps to make progress.
This is 8 of wands/Chariot-style energy – fast-paced, confident and future-focused. Balancing all the Mercury/Pluto/retrograde energy urging us to look backwards/inwards, this mixture of air and fire energy will help to keep things in perspective – reminding us not to linger too long in the shadows of past memories, but to seize the day and make the most of opportunities that come our way.
